E-mail from Bob Hautzenroeder at Barulho Brasileiro:

I have a confession to make: I've been learning how to find may way around the web by the grasp & grope method.... think I can actually find some selected sites now if I want to.

I did find one of the sites once with the typo, then I went back and came up empty. Do you ever take this thing off line as if for maintenance, etc? [NEVER]

Here's my challenge for you: Word 6 is wonderful, but it won't tell me whether the bird is included or linked. This causes confusion as I don't know which one to send you, so it's your choice! I have tucano- .bmp .tif .cpt! Whaddayawant? They are all the same date; same time within minutes, back in '95. Also about the same size, 1/4 meg. Hope they're zippable!

Is there a way for me to add "tidbits" to the page, or just e-mail it to you? Wouldn't touch your art work with a ten foot pole. Can't sing, either! Let me know your bitmap choice and I'll send you a note with the "Attach" button.

P.S: Any truth to the rumor mill that AOL will buy Compuserve??? Ate' logo.

E-mail from Trudy Moss:

Hi .... I am living in Fayetteville, NC....am going nuts right now as I am a tax accountant!!!! Sent Gail you phone number the other day....I'm sorry, Anita [Moss] to you - She had lost your number. Have not had time to check out the webpage yet, but will right after tax season.
Hang in there!!!!
Trudy

[Webmaster's Note: Just so the record is clear, Anita Moss is the first girl I had a crush on at EA in the 4th grade in 1961! We were in Miss Vera's class, and crushes on the teacher don't count]

E-mail from Vikki Espinosa:

I believe you found my Aunt in your yearbook. Turner is a family name. I have forwarded your message to her. I included the web page address and your compuserve address. My father should have been in the same yearbook. He must have graduated in '60, '61 or '62. Can you find him? It's been hard since he died to get good old pictures of him. If you do find him, maybe I can get photocopies of the pages he was on.

I'll have to hear about the "european vacations" next time I see my aunt. Vikki

E-mail from Trudy Moss:

Hi Bruce; My e-mail address is tmatth2772@aol.com.....Sent my sister Gail your phone number the other day. She has misplaced yours and has been asking me for some time now to get it for her......I keep forgetting to look you up on the Barulho directory. When I got my new one the other day I did....Say hello to April for me....... This is tax time, and as a tax accountant I'm snowed under...... This is great! Trudy Moss Matthews

E-mail from Gabor Becht:

-Thanks Bruce!- Got your message, interesting that we were thinking about my father about the same time. I still have several of those cards that were made from his drawings! Thanks for the great job you did on the EA home page. If there is anything I can contribute with, please let me know. I am a webmaster for our company and have several home pages that I maintain, so this is fun for me,
take care.

PS. By the way, how is April? We have one of her works of art at home, the Southwestern style nativity scene that we put out every Christmas. It was Nancy Belt's gift to us (from tokyo).

E-mail from Vikki A. Espinosa:

Wow, another Web page. I have been getting a lot of e-mail from people looking for other people. I was Vikki Mueller at EA. I attended from 7-12 grade and graduated in 1985. My e-mail address is Vikki_A_Espinosa@ccm.ra.intel.com. I have worked at Intel for the past 6 years. I work in the Facilities Construction and Technology Division. I am the Fab Project Controls Manager for the NW.

Interesting facts:
My father, aunt and uncle all attended EA. I am not sure what years, but I assume late 50's, early 60's. My father is deceased but my aunt and uncle are still alive. My grandmother was purported to be temporary headmaster one year. My sister also attend EA, but left after 8th grade.

E-mail from Kenny Mertz:

It was great talking with you this morning. I just spent 10 minutes exploring your EAWeb page and it is fantastic! Please add my email address: kbmertz@aol.com.

Some info regarding the great EA Class of 1965: The Class had a reunion at the Lago Mar in Fort Lauderdale in 1990 -- the 25th anniversary of our graduation. It was really something special! We all enjoyed the name tags that April made and I know that several classmates -- including me -- are treasuring them as mementos.

Our next Class of '65 reunion was in combination with the Barulho Brasileiro in Cape Cod in 1995 -- our thirtieth anniversary. At that reunion I was "appointed" class president. Jimmy Jaffre "nominated" me, and none of the several classmates who were present at the time objected, so it was done! My primary duties are maintaining the class address list (about 80 classmates), maintaining the class email list (about 30 classmates), trying to find "lost" classmates, and publishing a class newsletter (about every six months or so). So my title should probably more appropriately be class secretary!

We will probably have another class reunion in 2000, but we're not planning that yet! At Cape Cod, a few classmates expressed an interest in having another reunion before then, so when I learned last year about Miriam Baum's reunions and her plans to have another one in 1997, I called her to see if we could join up with her, and have been working with her ever since.

Question for discussion: How do people feel about going to Tempe in August? There seem to be two schools of thought: (1) it's too hot, and (2) the humidity is very low which makes the heat bearable. I'm looking for input that I can use with classmates to try to convince them that they should attend despite what they hear about summer temperatures in Arizona. I noticed that you and Penny have the same Compuserve address, and April has a different one. I'm sending a copy of this to April. Will she receive it? (April, if you receive this, please send me an email. I'd like to add you to the classemail club.) Bruce, I hope your Web site will be another way that we can find more '65 classmates. I'll be sending a note to our class "email club" telling them about it. Thanks very much for setting it up and maintaining it!
Sincerely,Kenny Mertz

E-mail from Bruce Missagia:

Hi, Very cool. It's hard to believe EA is on the "internet map". I currently work as the accounting manager for a computer research institute called ISI. ISI (part of the USC Engineering School) is a think-tank consisting of world class scientists working on various areas of computer science. One of our divisions is heavily involved in internet related research and activities, and is headed by one of the "grandfathers" of the internet. Our home page is:http://www.isi.edu I'll be looking forward to participating in the expansion of the EA "web". Bruce

E-mail from Charles Port:

Hello: Thank you for the thoughtful note -- I am glad that you've got me added to your homepage list. I will now endeavor to add some content to my page so that people who vaguely remember me can figure out who I am. I like what you've done to your page, and there is an advantage to avoiding some of the more esoteric HTML tags (such as frames), as you should always design for the lowest common denominator [Mosaic Browsers]. The web was really designed to give information, and your page has already met that criteria. Keep me posted with any changes, and if you would like to get some commentary or technical help, I would love to provide it. Regards, Charles Port

E-mail from Georgia Aliano:

This is Georgia '86 and your home page is super! You did a great job Bruce!
Take care,Georgia

E-mail from Wendy (Nordstrom) Wilkinson:

Graduated EA1972 (you guys must have left before I got there in 1970, because I don't think I remember Scot...)

Live in Houston,Texas, Usa, and I don't have a web site. There have been three reunions of EA over the last 10-12 years or so; one in Washington DC, one in Dallas, and on in California (just last year). 1974 seems to be the hot year for participating graduates.

I'm glad you put this page together; I just wish EA had one itself.

["Webmaster's" (me) note: The Stirling's were in Rio from 1961 through 1965. Rio made an impression on us, and we made an impression on Rio!

I won't drop the ball... this page is here for the long haul, until that final curtain, and if my curtain comes down, there are many other Stirlings to take up the slack!
Obviously, no one is communicating between the classes, and hence, the need for this page. The Classes of 1967, '68, and '65 have been active. In addition to the reunions you mentioned, I attended a great one in Ft. Lauderdale,FL ('93), and the 50th in Rio in '87. Denver had one in '95, and a few years back, there was a great one in San Fransisco.

Tell your friends we are here, and that they can post their letters to the world. I do reserve the right to edit letters.]

E-mail from Georgia Aliano:

Bruce - am I going [to the reunion]? You bet I am! I organized my class 10th reunion and everybody loved it. People actually flew in for the weekend! I t's a lot of fun. About the words [to the school song] - I only remember part of the chorus and the fact that my class -'86 - was the first to sing it after a long time. They changed the part about "gay companions" to happy companions too.

"Oh Escola Americana- sunny school of work and play
You will never be forgotten though we wonder far away..."
Believe me- you have to come. The school is organizing a package with the Copacabana Palace for a week of sight seeing and activities. One more thing - forget the e-mail for the school - it's just for the technical stuff and most of the staff doesn't have access. Take care, Georgia
