Big 4

The four largest American schools in Brazil, the American School of Rio de Janeiro, the American School of Brasilia, Chapel (Sao Paulo) and Graded in Sao Paulo, get together for a three day competition in basketball, futebol, softball, volleyball, and futebol de salao.  In November and April, boys' and girls' teams gather to determine who will be the champions in each sport.   In years past, the competition included the American School of La Paz, Bolivia, and the American School of Buenos Aires, Argentina.  The tournament's tradition rivals that of USC and Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan, and Arizona and Arizona State.
