Hello EA. Greetings from a former student. I lived in Rio from '82'-85 and would have graduated in '87. Now I live in Oslo, Norway and remember Rio`s temprature with great joy. I`m trying to find Ulf Petterson from class of '85, and would be grateful for any help.

The "Carioca" pages have not yet been loaded with any photos. I am making this a "computer" weekend, trying to fix broken and outdated links. Please not many of the "older" pages on this site have old links to pages moved to new subdirectories. If you get a "URL not listed" error, try inserting "http://www.stirlinglaw/ea/" and then the name of the page. All pages, except the Guestbook and the homepage, were moved to the "/ea/" subdirectory. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Hey Bruce! - How's it goin'? - I used to be in your class of '70 listing, but I seemed to have disappeared - Here's the current stuff - 6874 Dorsey Road, Elkridge, Md 21227 PHONE: 410-379-0342 FAX: 410-637-1605. By the way, I've been given an airfare for RIO 2000 - $850 R/T from NY or BWI. This rate is a group rate and could be reduced if more people participate. My agent says reservations could start Jan 1, 1999.

I was despairing that I would never be able to connect with anyone from EA, let alone anyone from the years I attended. I'm thrilled that this homepage was created. I just wish I'd found it sooner. I'd love to hear from anyone who was there with me (1964-1967).

Some people have all the luck. My two dear sisters, Robin ('68) and Mercy ('69), will be arriving in Rio on or about March 1 to matar a few saudades. Am I a little upset, or what? They'll probably stay at either the Miramar or the Arpoador Inn for old saudades sake. If you knew them (they were both cheerleaders, and I think Robin may still have the high jump record for EA), give them a call.

How interesting to find Escola Americana on the web. I would be tempted to say that the beauty of EA was in its fantastic physical surroundings. But when I went back in 1991 I found an empty campus (it was July). I walked into our very vacant and silent main auditorium. Where were all of those wonderful people??? Had the magic of EA gotten on the plane with each one as they left?? They are now scattered all over, judging from your guestbook entries. I've already seen a few who I need to say "hello" to. Thanks for the website...... Douglas Turmel Class of 1980 PS - Does anyone remember in (May?) 1980 when Dr. Gilbert Brown announced they had to shut the cafeteria down, so they were getting McDonalds to come in and cater.......

Awesome website... too bad there aren't many 82'ers out there. I attended from '77 -'82 and was best known for huge spitball fights at Dr. Flarys Calculus class with bolinha, Pons, and Oats. KDS pessoal? Great job Mr. Stirling...

What's going on here, anyway?! Brasil 0 USA 1!!! #@*@#*! In Brazil, many were dumbfounded. "A defeat to be ashamed of," read a headline Wednesday in the Rio daily O Globo. "Nightmare in the wee hours," blared the sporting daily Lance, referring to the game's 2 a.m. starting time in Brazil. "What nobody believed could happen, happened." The U.S. had NEVER beaten Brazil, and hadn't even scored a goal on Brazil in 68 YEARS!

If you even remember me, drop me an e-mail. I'd love to hear from you! :) (I attended EA from 7th to 9th grade and would have graduated with the class of 1995)

Oi gente! Just a quick note to send you my new email address. Thanks to this web page, I've received messages from folks I haven't heard from in years. Obrigado Bruce. An old EA friend came to Houston and found three Patrick Richouxs in the phone book, but not me. Since I'm unlisted, here goes my address and phone number in case any old friends are coming to Houston. If you drop me a line before you get here, I might be able to get hold of some Brahma Chopp and guarana (Antartica, e claro) pra matar as saudades. Until then, um abraco. I want to thank both Dave McGuerty and Walt Perkins for going the extra mile in an effort to update all known EA Alumni information. Thanks to their efforts, I'll soon be able to post current information on the website. They've probably already contacted you. Maintaining this site has become very time consuming (it is now 3:22 a.m.), and I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks, too, to all have sent me videos, photos, and "artifacts" for publication. I haven't had enough time to get them posted, much less, to return your originals, yet. The whole "turma" appreciates your interest! I'll give individual credit when the materials go up. I moved my scanner, rebuilt and upgraded several computers, and in the process managed to lose the scanner to an "IRQ" conflict. I have a great EA pennant that's too big for the scanner. Look for it soon. Thanks for all the help.
