Attended EA in the class of '77 - was there from '73-'76. Had to come back to US for Senior year. Certainly missed all my EA friends - 20 years. . . Who can believe it. Susan Sybert <tjw514@concentric.net> Montclair, NJ USA - Sunday, August 31, 1997 at 14:07:42 (EDT)

Good Grief!! What a neat web page. I went to EA for one huge year, '73-74. My sister Kathy Van Tassel graduated in '74. I would love to hear from anybody who might remember the old days. (they were the seventies, after all, who remembers that far?) Kathy asks that any of her old friends e-mail me and I will pass the message on. John Van Tassel <JVTDC@electro-net.com> Tallahassee, Fl USA - Sunday, August 24, 1997 at 19:23:48 (EDT)

Can't believe I found you all! Since the Quering family (Walt Sr, C. Virginia, Ginger, Walter, and me, Linda) left Brazil in 1964 things sure look like they have changed! I'm going to try to make it for the Olympics in 2004. Mom and Dad are gone now but the memories are great and will always be with us kids. Walter is married and has two boys. Walter Russell just graduated from high school with highest honors. Scott Vincent is now a sophmore. Ginger is married (third time), no children. I gave up after 3 - no children. Give us a call sometime. Linda F. Quering <linda_quering@notes.ymp.gov> Las Vegas, NV USA - Friday, August 22, 1997 at 15:11:56 (EDT)

Excellent work on this page! Thanks. Hey Judy! Here is class of '79! Christopher M. Hipskind <chipskind@openlink.com.br> Rio de Janeiro, RJ Brazil - Thursday, August 21, 1997 at 19:30:24 (EDT)

Just wanted to tell you we at Uenohara High School really enjoyed seeing your webpage. I am an American now teaching English at a public high school in Japan. While introducing the internet to my students I decided to visit some sites in Brazil. I was an exchange student in Brazil from 1988-89 in the small city of Nova Friburgo, R.J. Your homepage allowed my students to not only explore another area of the world, but even gain a better perspective of Brazil. Thank you for the wonderful information and opportunity. One day I'd like to visit your school. Domo arigatou gozaimasu (Muito obrigada!!) Nicole Nicole M. Meckley <CAET@yin.or.jp> Morehead City, NC USA - Tuesday, August 19, 1997 at 20:35:28 (EDT)

Alo, pessoal! Adorei Phoenix. Sairemos terca que vem (dia 26) a Mocambique via California (inclusive no Hollywood Bowl com Oscar, Ivan e Gilberto) e New Jersey. I won't be at my present addresses after Tuesday, but will send noticias from Africa to the WebPage, Webmaster, etc. Obrigado por tudo, gente, Muito amor, John John Walter USA - Monday, August 18, 1997 at 21:04:55 (EDT)

I didn't know the school had a homepage, I like it and hope you get many messages! Alessandro Teichner <Teichner@iis.com.br> Rio de Janeiro, RJ Brasil - Sunday, August 17, 1997 at 00:06:17 (EDT)

Greetings from London, I just discovered the webpage from my sister Nadine Wade. I attended EA 1966 through 1970, Elementary School. Both my brother (Craig Wade class '68) and my sister (Nadine Wade) were there during those years. We would love to hear from anyone from those time slots. It's great to see this website and please add me on to any and all notifications. Glenn Wade <gwade@prodart.com> London, United Kingdom - Friday, August 15, 1997 at 14:28:57 (EDT)

Am back to work after the fabulous reunion in Phoenix - the best ever - and can't believe how much I miss everyone and the fun we had. Three days of non-stop talking and laughing - you are all the best. See you next time. Milhoes de saudades, and call if you're ever in Chicago. Lynn Rendall <lynn.d.rendall@arthurandersen.com> Chicago, IL USA - Thursday, August 14, 1997 at 10:17:45 (EDT)

Parabens! Um Website de alta qualidade para uma escola de alta qualidade. I did not expect less! Sou da Class of '87 and very proud of it! Trabalho na Raytheon Aircraft Company na area de vendas internacionais e moro em Kansas (yes, Kansas!). It is not too bad - good quality of life - mas poucas emocoes...Sinto falta do Rio e da galera da EA! Quero aproveitar para mandar um grande abrasso para todo o staff da EARJ dos meus tempos - Colares, Nazan, Walter Carvalho, Mmme. Godeaux, Galvao, etc. Devo muito do meu sucesso a voces todos! Bruce, Did not want to tick you off man!! Signing in as ordered!! Great to see everyone in Phoenix. My wife NOW understands a little of our (EA) relationship. However I do not think anyone other than us can REALLY know -- Do we know?? Too deep!! Has anyone had contact with Kathy Powell (67)? Love ya'll, Mark A. Knister (67) <mak2jak@our-town.com> Stehhenville, TX USA - Wednesday, August 13, 1997 at 14:57:13 (EDT)

Great page!! I would love to hear from anyone from the classes of '84, '85, and '86... I have been trying to find several people, and I could use a hand. Thanks!! Mandy Miller <amiller@visitdetroit.com> Detroit, MI USA - Wednesday, August 13, 1997 at 09:37:17 (EDT)

I was delighted to find this page. Attended from 1968 till graduation in 1973, so I was at the old school and the new school. Memories: Surfing at Saquarema , Ipanema and Macumba, the protest in 1969 at EA over women wearing blue jeans to school, the on going debates over the Vietnam War at school, the nickname for EA --"Esquadrao da Fumaca", seeing Richie Havens at EA, climbing the hill to school and seeing Jeph Berberick passing in a chaffeur driven car, swimming at Leblon beach for gym, DOPS, the political climate in Brasil at the time, mock presidential elections in 1972,TaeKwan do class after school, and so many more Carlos Herrera <KAKI1@prodigy.net> Santa Maria, CA USA - Tuesday, August 12, 1997 at 00:59:15 (EDT)

I am so pleased to see a web site for EA! I gradutated in 1979, any fellow classmates out there? Judy Sybert <Paflygirl@aol.com> Reading, PA USA - Monday, August 11, 1997 at 23:46:31 (EDT)

Well it sounds like you guys had fun at the reunion. I was checking often to see the updates, but now I see some of you are writing about the event. I miss Rio and EA and am glad that we have this great homepage! Anyone in attendance from Class of '81? When and where is the next reunion? Just hobbled back from the Buttes' Reunion, legs hurting from five hours of non-stop Pulando Carnaval to the gringo dj's surprise. Dr. and Mrs. Brown danced. It's that batucada. It gets you every time. We hugged, we laughed, we ate, we exchanged photos and stories. We wondered where so and so was, talked talked talked, laughed 'til our sides hurt and got to know each other as grown ups, tho' it felt like Rio in the 60's to me. Other reunions on this planet Wish that they felt like this one did. April, Penny (and husband Don Johnson), Robin, Bruce (and wife Deborah) and Scot were there and so was our Mommy. Thanks to those people who talked so nicely with her. She loved seeing your baby faces looking so much like your parent's faces that she remembered. I have to go lie down. Whew!...Ai meu deus.......Thank-you Miriam Baum for a job Mais Que well done! April Stirling Romo de Vivar <dbarret@C2i2.com> Tucson, AZ USA - Monday, August 11, 1997 at 14:57:52 (EDT)

Maybe we're not coming. I have a computer set up at the reunion, but we can't get online from the hotel's phone system. I went back to my office and had no trouble. We'll try again later. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait until we are loaded after the fact. Bruce USA - Saturday, August 09, 1997 at 22:44:45 (EDT)

Okay. . . in a few hours we should be up and running at The Buttes in Tempe. The storm has passed. Get ready. We're coming. Bruce Stirling Reunion, AZ USA - Saturday, August 09, 1997 at 14:47:37 (EDT)

Nossa que web page mais chocante! I love it! Congratulations to the Webmaster and all behind this effort! I bow humbly at your feet. This is an amazing effort! For my money, this is the official EARJ website! I am from the class of 1987 and would love to get in contact with anyone from that era. Currently, I am working at Kaiser Permanente (nao, e Kaiser a cerveja, nao gente) a huge HMO based in Oakland, California. I do finance and asset management consulting for them. Does anyone want to network? Ate mais, gente fina! Ri Ri Ri RIO!!!!! Chris Ybarra <christopher.ybarra@kp.org> Berkeley, CA USA - Friday, August 08, 1997 at 16:38:25 (EDT)

The Reunion at The Buttes starts today! We're here "live" and ready to send you photos of old friends, teachers, and Dr. Brown. Use the email on this message to reach us at the Reunion. We will be away from other computers and other email addresses. Head for the Chat room about 8:00 p.m. Phoenix (Mountain) time. Cross your fingers and hope this works! Sarava' meu pai . . . Bruce Stirling '70 <bruce@stirlinglaw.com> Phoenix, AZ USA - Friday, August 08, 1997 at 13:57:06 (EDT)

Boy, it's good touching bases with EARJ! I love this privilege, it's a honor to touch the past with your fringer tips. Anyways, I am wondering what happen to the pictures from last year reunion in San Diego??? Bom preciso ir meus filhos estao con sono. Tchau. Maria Cristina Herrera Arnold <sarnold@rain.org> Santa Maria, CA USA - Thursday, August 07, 1997 at 01:43:47 (EDT)

Atencao -- While in "CHAT," if you click on "float," you can then move on to other web pages and still have an open window to chat from! Is that cool, or what? Bruce . . . USA - Friday, August 01, 1997 at 09:43:52 (EDT)

Uhhhh . . . Would you believe just one last thing? To see the current Guestbook you must access it through the Homepage also. All other "Guestbook" links will take you to an older version of the guestbook. No time yet to edit the older links at the top of each page (there are over 100 now!). This problem only applies to the "Chat" and "Guestbook." All other links are fine. Webmaster USA - Friday, August 01, 1997 at 09:33:59 (EDT)

One more thing. The "Chat" link only works on the Homepage. I have not had time to edit all of the pages. So if you want to "chat," return to the Homepage, then hit "chat." All other "chat" links are still linked to Antarctica's Chat page. Bruce Stirling USA - Friday, August 01, 1997 at 02:57:47 (EDT)

OK, people. You all really owe me big time for this one! The EA Chat room LIVES! IT'S ALIVE! Now, instead of sharing with Antarctica' cheesy set up, which crashed everytime we used it, we have our own room! Just wait for the page to load (it takes awhile and may just look like a gray box for a long time while the Java script loads), then type in a name, and hit "connect." That's all there is to it. The start typing where it says, "type here." It really doesn't get any easier or cheaper than this. What a great time to be alive! Bruce Stirling <bruce@stirlinglaw.com> USA - Friday, August 01, 1997 at 02:54:51 (EDT)
