Hello fellow classmates from EA. Where is everyone from the class of '81!!! I'm glad to see all the info available on the web on EARJ. Hope to hear from anyone from my class. Anyone know where Margarida Armstrong ('82) or Monica Hoffman ('80) are?

On August 8 and 9 we will attempt a first for the EA website. We will try to upload digital photos of the Arizona EA Reunion as it happens, updated every 15-30 minutes or so. Please visit the Guestbook to leave messages for all of the EA Web to read. EA alumni at the Reunion will be monitoring the page throughout the reunion, so get ready! Here we come!

Well, what comes around goes around! I attended EA 80-82 (8th-9th grade) and thought the dusty yearbooks would be my sole memory from my Brazilian stay. But a couple of years ago an old pal from EA got in touch ( after 12 years of absence in my phonebook), and now this! Will take frequent nostalgic peeks here - instant bookmark. Take care, Mike Funke

For those of you who know me (and even those who don't), I'm from the Class of '85 and I'm trying to trace some ex-classmates. I left Brazil in 1985 to return to my native England and the last time I went back to Rio was back in 1989. I still use my Portuguese on a daily basis at work (I work for the Multimedia division of Dorling Kindersley in Central London) and I graduated with a honours degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1991. How about you ? I'm now married (my wife is two years younger than me, 28) and she is a lawyer. We live just outside London and I commute to my office in Covent Garden (next to Trafalgar Square) on the train every day. Are you bored yet ? Well, drop me a few lines then ! Bye !

It's been 21 years since I lived in Brasil, I still speak some Portuguese but when I try I get it mixed up with Spanish. I would have graduated from Escola Americana in 1979 but moved back to the US in 11/76. I do miss Brasil alot and hope someday to return. Ate Logo.

I just found your site and immediately sent the URL to my son and daughter, who attended your school. They should be on-line tonight and be in touch; they miss Brasil, as do I. Passe bem!

Um abraco grande

There were recent changes made to the site, which hopefully you won't even realize happened. The Guestbook may temporarily act a little weird as a result of the changes. I had to move more messages to the Guestbook Archives due to the failure of the page to completely load. Look for your messages there. Remember, the Reunion is here!

A MR. BECHT STORY: I HAVE NO IDEA HOW OLD MR. BECHT WAS IN '60 BUT I KNOW HE WAS IN EXCELLENT PHYSICAL CONDITION. PART OF HIS REGIMEN AS PHYSICAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTION WAS TO "CHART" EACH STUDENT THROUGH A SERIES OF TESTS- RUNNING, JUMPING, THROWING, ETC. ONE OF THOSE TESTS INVOLVED CLIMBING UP A HEAVY HEMP ROPE SUSPENDED APPROXIMATELY 25 FEET FROM THE CEILING OF THE COVERED AREA THAT WAS BETWEEN THE ORIGINAL EA BUILDING AND THE 4-STORY EXTENSION. WE WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS IN HIS HEAVILY ACCENTED ENGLISH TO CLIMB THE ROPE AND TOUCH THE CEILING; HE WOULD TIME EACH STUDENT AND RECORD THE TIMES AS HE ANNOUNCED THE RESULT. MOST OF US SUCCEEDED IN SOMEHOW NEGOTIATING THE ROPE USING HANDS, ARMS, LEGS, AND FEET IN A SEMI-COORDINATED TANGLE OF ADOLESCENCE. A FEW GIFTED ATHLETES MADE IT UP FAIRLY QUICKLY (ALTHOUGH THE TIMES ARE LOST IN HISTORY). WITH EACH SUCCEEDING SUCCESS OR FAILURE MR. BECHT'S ANNOUNCEMENT BECAME MORE AND MORE DISAPPOINTED TO THE POINT THAT HE EVENTUALLY DECLARED HOW WE WERE ALL IN POOR SHAPE AND HE WOULD HAVE HIS WORK CUT OUT TO IMPROVE US. HE WOULD EVENTUALLY GET AROUND TO A STATEMENT AKIN TO: "EVEN AN OLD GUY LIKE ME COULD BEAT THESE TIMES." OF COURSE, WE TOOK THE BAIT AND EVENTUALLY CHALLENGED HIM TO SHOW US. WHICH HE DID, IN SPADES! I REMEMBER MR. BECHT BEING ABLE TO SHOOT UP THE ROPE USING ONLY HIS ARMS AND HANDS IN SEEMLINGLY ONE SMOOTH MOTION- LEAVING US ALL WITH OPEN MOUTHS AND A RENEWED APPRECIATION FOR HIS STRENGTH AND A FALSE IMPRESSION OF OUR OWN ABILITIES. SEVERAL OF US ACTUALLY WORKED, THEREAFTER, TO IMPROVE OUR PUNY PHYSICAL CONDITION. IT TURNS OUT THAT MR.BECHT NOT ONLY HAD A WELL-CONDITIONED BODY BUT A WELL-CONDITIONED MIND. HE KNEW HOW TO MOTIVATE US! WALT PERKINS <WALT_PERKINS@CCMAIL.ORL.LMCO.COM> OCALA, FL USA - Thursday, July 17, 1997 at 16:30:41 (EDT)

Talked to Miriam Baum today. She needs your money gente. It is time for her to pay the hotel. She reported that Suzy Kent - class of '70, would be in attendance, thanks to the efforts of Beverly Rendall. Rick Bado!? Are you coming? There is a churrascaria in Scottsdale, $15.00 all you can eat dinner. They also sell Guarana. Reunion time is getting short. Definitely bring your bathing suits and sun tan lotion. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. ALL CLASSES ARE WELCOME!!! Claro . . . don't be shy! Webmaster <webmaster@stirlinglaw.com> USA - Wednesday, July 16, 1997 at 17:09:53 (EDT)

Hi! I just went to EA for a semester, then on to EAB, and on and on, but I had a great time! Maybe too good, considering..... Why isn't anyone from the class of '89 up? Where have all the sociopaths gone? Back living in Rio now. patricia de oliveira dias <patthebat@rocketmail.com> - Tuesday, July 15, 1997 at 17:27:53 (EDT)
