| Bruce Stirling recently visited Glenn
Jenkss office and revealed the online wonders of the Internet now awaiting all CAAs. With the CAA websites eGroups, CAAs can easily disseminate information, debate issues, poll group members, make plans, schedule events, exchange motions, exchange exhibits, and much more. Group members can participate either via standard e-mail or by using the eGroups.com website interface. Simply select whether you wish to participate via email, or by visiting the eGroup website, where all email messages are stored in a threaded bulletin board format. Messages can be viewed by author, subject, or date. CAAs joining the online revolution in the future can still access earlier email messages and attachments stored on the eGroup website (barring hard drive failure). You owe it to yourself and/or your secretary to get online and see what all of the fun is about! Unlimited Internet access can be purchased for about $19.99 per month. You get email and Internet services, plus you almost always receive 5 to 11 MB of space on the Internet for your own website. Additional free web space is also available online. |
If the cost of the computer is a problem, there
are many places to go that sell new, used, and remanufactured equipment that will more
than do the job. Frys Electronics is a great place to start for new equipment, while Greg Crandall (254-4404 -- Plummer Law Offices) has provided many attorneys with cut-rate buys on laptops and PCS. Computer Renaissance, EMC, and the newspaper are also great places for great buys. Eligibility Office Reminder To All CAAs Jeanne Rau wants to remind all CAAs to be careful when viewing information about court dates supplied by her office. Until all of the bugs are worked out of the new CMS court computer system, she reminds you to double check all court dates on the sheet provided which bears the heading, "Pending/Concluded." The form does not always contain updated information. If the document ends an entry with the letter "P," the information should be accurate. Those ending in letters "V" and "C" should be viewed with caution. |
