Does it require any special conditions?
From reading the last few message about locus of control, instruction, and students, I thought the following may add to the discussion. Hannafin (1984) stated that "learner age and ability have also been found to affect the extent to which learner control strategies can be effectively applied." He further argued that older and more able learners may have more refined strategies to apply during instruction, and are likely to be better at estimating the accuracy of learning (Student2, 1997).
