What are its parts?
Garrison and Baynton (1987) identified three major components of control: independence, power and support. They explain that the balance between these elements is manifested in communication. Independence allows the student to choose what, when, how and where to learn. The capacity to take responsibility for the learning process is power and the resources that the learner can access to learn constitute support (Student1, 1997).
